What makes you proud to be a part of the Little Schools?
I’m proud to be a part of the Little Schools because of the sense of community here and the values they really live by. I love that they genuinely care, not just about the kids, but about the families and staff too. It feels good to work somewhere that supports everyone and makes you feel like you really belong.
What's something that always makes you smile?
Seeing the joy on children’s faces when they achieve something new, enjoying their silly moments, and spending time with loved ones.
More About Xochitl
I was born in Oakland, California, and spent my early childhood in a beautiful small town called Dr. Mora in Guanajuato, México. I returned to the U.S. at age eleven, bringing with me a deep appreciation for my culture and the rich traditions that continue to shape my identity.
I have over eight years of experience working with children. I’m passionate about helping them grow into confident, curious learners and creating meaningful connections that support their development.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, and being outdoors. I’m also a foodie who loves discovering new coffee shops and trying different types of cuisine. Some of my favorite things include iced coffee, plants, Italian food, desserts, and cheering on the Golden State Warriors.
At Rockridge Little School, I bring warmth, patience, and a strong commitment to nurturing each child’s unique growth. I value creating an inclusive, welcoming space where children feel safe, curious, and excited to learn.
What’s your superpower in the classroom?
Helping students feel confident, supported, and proud of their accomplishments.
What makes working with young children special to you?
What I love most about working with young children is that everyday is different. I enjoy seeing the small but meaningful ways they develop, like a quiet child finding their voice or a simple idea turning into a big imaginative adventure. Being able to support those moments and celebrate their achievements is what makes this work so rewarding for me.
