More About Elizabeth
I love collaborating with teachers and families in the Berkeley Little School community and bringing my culture to share with the children. I have been teaching in early childhood development for more than 20 years, and it’s always been an exciting field for me.
I have worked with preschool children in several different types of programs, full-day, part-day, low-income, mixed-age groups, etc. I really enjoy being silly with the children and creating found object art. As a child, I grew up hearing my mom (also a preschool teacher) talk about her day. She was always so excited about working with children. I learned from her that being a teacher is fun and rewarding. At that point, I thought to myself… who wouldn’t want a job where you play and enjoy your day?
I am a Mexican American who speaks both English and Spanish as well as some sign language. I was born and raised in California. I have 2 children of my own, a boy and a girl, both in their early teens. I’m very family oriented and love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy camping, road trips, bike riding, and when possible, traveling to Mexico. I look forward to diving into exciting art, music, and language projects with your children. I hope to inspire the children as much as they inspire me!
